Local search pulls from several places at once. Your website explains the services. Your Google Business Profile carries the practical details in Search and Maps. SEO makes that information findable. Reviews show what customers experienced. They support each other, but each does a different job. Start by finding what a customer cannot see or understand — not by replacing everything.

Google describes local ranking as relevance, distance and prominence. Website work cannot control all of it, and a pile of reviews does not decide who comes first. Google’s local-ranking guidance.
Four parts, four jobs
The website is where you have room: services, pricing, proof. It helps someone decide you are right and work out how to enquire.
Google Business Profile puts accurate details where people search and browse Maps. It needs updating whenever hours, services or contacts change.
Local SEO is about being findable and understandable: service explanations, links between pages, technical access. Ongoing work, no guaranteed ranking.
Reviews let customers speak. A fair request process makes feedback easier to give. The service itself still decides what they say.
Example: a local decorator
A fictional example. Someone searches for help painting a flat. The profile shows a decorator covers the area. Reviews describe what other customers got. The website explains working in an occupied home and how quotes are done.
If that page can be found and read, it also helps people arriving from ordinary search. The customer might go back to the reviews, then ring with a question. None of it proves a sale. Together it gives them enough to decide.
Start with what is missing
Wrong number or hours? Fix that first. People cannot understand the service? Fix the page. Good page nobody can find? Look at links and search access. Feedback keeps mentioning poor communication? Fix the process before chasing more reviews.
Job Growth Lab works across all four. A useful scope names the problem being solved and what you need to supply. Agree how enquiries get recorded, so visibility can be judged against real outcomes.
- Can a customer find the same contact and service details everywhere?
- Does each main service have a real explanation?
- Are reviews genuine and fairly requested?
- Can the team cope with the enquiries that follow?
